Week after week: lose 10 to 15 pounds again and again

Just like you I have been trying to lose weight, I have read a lot of weightloss books and I understand that eating less and working out more is the logical thing to do when you want to shed some pounds.
However for some reason, the logic doesn’t work, does it? Eating less and less made me feel hungry. Worse: how to exercise when you haven’t eaten a decent meal?
So you start doubting: is it me, or am I missing something? Since there are others that do lose weight, and I don’t lose weight following the same diet: I got my aha moment: everybody must find a diet that works for him. If the diet doesn’t work, then try another one until you find yours.
Unfortunately, so far there is no book that guides you to your personal diet. So the next best thing is buying diet books with a money back guarantee: if it doesn’t work, you ask your money back and you are one failure closer to finding your ideal weight loss program.
2 great diet books I read so far are the negative food calorie diet and Eat Weight Off.
- The first book shows you food and recipes that when eating them, burn up more calories than they add to your body. Basically we are talking fresh fruit and fresh vegetables, and although it is a full fetched diet, for me it works best knowing which food I can snack on in between meals without being afraid to gain weight.
- The Eat Weight Off book talks about food that helps you burning fat faster. It optimizes your liver and thyroid so your body uses up fat faster than without eating these foods.
Main thing is I am loosing weight now, be it a lot when I follow a crash diet. I don’t lose any weight when I stick to a smart diet of foods guided by the above 2 diet books.
So what can you learn from this? What I learned is that copying somebody else’s proven diet blindly doesn’t work. You need to know what the diet is actually doing, how it works and why it works. Once you know that, you also understand where it can go wrong and whether it could fit into your lifestyle. Main thing is to educate yourself which food is healthy and especially how food can help you reaching your goal to lose weight.
It’s not rocket science, you need to find what works for you. You can give up on a diet, but never give up the idea that you can be as slim as anybody else…ok, these days more and more people get obese, so it’s not to difficult that going back to the foods our grandparent were eating will help in obtaining a healthier weight.
